Upper Valtellina, lying in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, which in its own right is well worth a holiday visit,
is the ideal place to relax at peace with nature and enjoy sporting activities. In summer and in the intermediate seasons of
spring and autumn this area offers a wide choice of sporting activities, from the easiest of walks to the most demanding
mountain-hikes, on horseback or by mountain-bike through splendid valleys, golf, summer skiing on the Stelvio Pass,
mountain-climbing, to experience the thrill of climbing a sheer rock-face. You can try fishing in the clear limpid waters,
tennis, archery and go to the Bormio ice-stadium open also in summer. In winter you will find world class ski-slopes in Bormio
and its surrounding valleys all equipped with avant-garde lift facilities, first class hotel structures, and a high quality
infrastructure for free-time activities and entertainment. If you are a cross-country ski-lover, choose the distance most
suited to yourself on the Viola track in Valdidentro, considered to be one of the best cross-country ski-tracks in Italy,
or choose one of the ring-tracks around S. Caterina Valfurva.
And, to finish up, restore yourself in the ancient hot waters of Upper Valtellina, both in the Spa Baths in Bormio, in the
spa water pool, and in the Old Spa Baths (Bagni Vecchi) of Valdidentro, which go back to Roman times, in its outdoor pool
which dominates the Upper Valtellina or in the recently restored new Baths (Bagni Nuovi) which have been opened to the public.
