The Torches
The Milano Cortina 2026 torches are called "Essential," created in two versions: one for the Olympic Winter Games and the other for the Paralympic Winter Games. The Olympic torch features shades of green and blue, while the Paralympic torch features bronze tones. "Essential" is a tribute to the excellence of Italian design. Every detail is designed to represent the strength and determination of the athletes, as well as their ability to unite people through sport. They are not just an object, but an icon, a fundamental part of the story that Milano Cortina 2026 wishes to write and the legacy it intends to leave for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The Olympic and Paralympic torches are a universal symbol of unity, hope, and perseverance, and embody the core values of friendship, respect, and excellence that underpin the Games. They have a special role as they carry the Flame which symbolizes the light that shines within athletes, inspiring them to push their limits and compete with integrity, loyalty and fair play, celebrating diversity and promoting equality among all participants.
